The orange dome building the painting is Mark's Hot Dogs, a fairly well known landmark in San Jose. Located on Alum Rock, the hot dog stand has been part of the neighborhood for over 50 years. At debut reception of this painting I learned that the orange dome used to be one of the many of the chain of orange stands all over California.
